  • John and Paul compose 'She Loves You' at their hotel room in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
  • 'Please Please Me' LP, 14th week in the Top 10 (UK New Musical Express chart).

1964

  • Concert in Christchurch, New Zealand.
  • US LP release: 'A Hard Day's Night'.

1966

  • John visits Astrid, who gives him some letters written by Stuart shortly before dying.
  • Arrival in Hamburg. Concert at the Erns Merck Halle, Hamburg. End of tour of Germany.
    In downtown, fans face the police hours before the show.

1967

  • The Montreal Gazette reports that John and George admitted to reporters (24 June) that they had taken LSD.
